Geomancy
|
As far back as Antiquity and even in megalithic cultures, our ancestors made use of geomancy in building constructions such as Stonehenge. In doing so, they combined their astonishing knowledge of the heavens with their extensive knowledge of the Earth. In addition, even the successful master-builders from the workshops responsible for producing the cathedrals of the Gothic era also made use of geomancy expertise dating back more than a thousand years in order to appropriately align their completed architectural works of art in space.
The ancient knowledge of geomancy is the art of finding a good location and then creating something in that location that will stand firm and convey strength. In deciding where to build and live, taking into account the different cardinal directions, positions of the sun and various existing energies in the landscape are well-known methods that have stood the test of time.

In addition, great care was taken in the past to include rituals and ceremonies for the purpose of clarifying and purifying the energies of the land, as well as continually working on maintaining healthy space energies. To this day, in the foundational bedrock of almost all noteworthy churches in Europe, traces can be found of ancient cultures that had previously constructed their sacred shrines on exactly the same site. Rituals that are still carried out to this day, such as laying the cornerstone, topping out and blessing the roof-ridge beam are remnants of ancient rituals from a time when builders and craftsmen were committed to the long tradition of architecture as an art form with all of its wide-reaching and even spiritual domains. The rituals of the Freemasons have also preserved some of these ideas for us to the current day. Nowadays, however, the Freemasons no longer deal with the art of architecture in its concrete form, but instead concentrate their efforts on the inner temple, which from time immemorial has actually been the image that external temples are supposed to reflect. Nowadays, when a Freemason rises from Entered Apprentice to Fellow Craft and finally to Master Mason, he is following the path of the masonry craftsman only in terms of the language used; nevertheless, this reveals the high standards that once characterized the art of architecture in earlier times.
In slogans such as "A strong will as the starting point of all creation" - "Know the ultimate goal" - "Risk everything for the noble cause” the high standards expected in the construction of one's own inner temple become clear. Anyone who wants to build a temple for the soul within their own body needs similar awareness, as does any person who wants to create a temple when building a house for someone in reality. Back when such ideals accompanied the art of building on all levels, the awareness of geomancy was self-evident and far more important than property prices and good transport connections.
Nowadays we are gradually winning back this kind of knowledge via Eastern traditions. The energetic evaluation of the Chi or Qi flow at the relevant location is determined with the help of the Chinese Feng Shui and the Indian Vastu-doctrine.
In geomancy, what constitutes a good and safe location is traditionally determined with the help of radiesthesia, and other methods that are not yet measurable scientifically; nowadays, however, the newer science of building biology is also starting to play a role. Existing buildings can also be regenerated energetically. Sometimes all it takes is just a few small touches to create a better feeling within a certain space. New residential buildings can benefit from knowledge of the golden mean with respect to architecture, as well as from knowledge of the polarity of Yin-Yang.

Most of us have unconscious abilities in these areas. For example, upon entering a room, it is easy to feel straightaway whether it is cosy and makes us feel welcome or whether – regardless of how much has been invested in heating, lighting and music – it just does not feel right.
The state of well-being and harmony in every home can also be felt - independent of individual tastes, and in any case, these must always be adapted again and again to the relevant next stage in life more in accordance with our age.
Pieces of furniture, especially heirlooms, have stories to tell, sometimes perhaps even those which we may not always want to be reminded of. In the course of my many years of dealing with these topics and such subtle, fine-matter energies, I have also come across ways to purify and neutralize such energies.
In commercial buildings, even large open-plan offices, which were impeding the energies of the staff, I was able in past projects to realize significant successes for the teams involved, with these successes being reflected not only in the improved working atmosphere, but also in a decline in absenteeism. Most importantly, however, the staff not only felt less worn out and tired, but - quite the contrary - were subsequently fit and energetic. Not uncommonly, lethargy was transformed into dynamic drive, and in this way, this ancient knowledge was able to sweep a breath of fresh air into modern-day business projects. Such "beautification" can therefore direct fresh energy into "stuffy" domains and open up new inner areas and opportunities.
Naturally, I am happy to help with minor questions or larger projects, and if desired, I can, of course, send a list of references.

In poetic terms, geomancy is for me "the art of being allowed to read the hand-lines of the Earth".
